Why quitting smoking on your own is so hard
Quitting smoking involves two dependencies that are not overcome in the same way. The first is physical: the body craves nicotine, and going without it shows up as irritability, nervousness and sometimes disturbed sleep. The second comes down to habit: the morning cigarette, the break with colleagues, the Friday evening drink. Each situation brings back the reflex.
Most people who come to the centre have already tried to quit, on their own or by other means. These attempts are not failures of willpower: it usually takes several attempts before quitting sticks. No needles, nothing that breaks the skin, no medication: the method is non-invasive and painless. Most people describe nothing more than a slight warmth. The session ends with advice for the first few days.
What the method aims to do, and what it does not do
The method is based on laser stimulation of specific points. The session cannot be offered to people in any of the following situations:

- minors without parental consent
