Why quitting smoking on your own is so hard
Two mechanisms overlap when you quit. The first is physical: deprived of nicotine, the body reacts with irritability, difficulty concentrating and sometimes broken nights. The second is down to habit: the morning cigarette, the break outside between two meetings, the Friday evening drink. Each of these moments brings back the gesture, regardless of the craving itself.
Most people who come to the centre have already tried to quit, on their own or with other methods. These attempts say nothing about their willpower: it usually takes several attempts before quitting lasts over time. Laser auricular reflexology works on the physical side. The rest is then worked on with the follow-up support.

How a session works, step by step
- The initial interview
The session lasts about an hour. It begins with an initial interview: your consumption, your previous attempts, the moments when the urge comes back. The practitioner uses this to tailor what follows. - Applying the laser
Next comes the laser application. A gentle, low-intensity laser (photobiomodulation) stimulates reflex points on the ear and a few points on the nose. No needles, no breaking of the skin, no medication: the technique is non-invasive and painless, and most people feel only a slight warmth. The session ends with advice for the first few days.
What the method aims to do, and what it doesn't
The method is based on laser stimulation of specific points. It aims to ease the physical signs of craving felt after quitting and to reduce the symptoms often associated with withdrawal, such as stress, irritability, anxiety or sleep problems. The goal is to support you through this transition phase by making it less uncomfortable.
It does not replace your decision to quit and does not act on the habits built up over the years: that is the role of the follow-up support.

Who the method is not suitable for
The session cannot be offered to people in any of the following situations:
- pregnant women, at any stage of pregnancy
- people with a pacemaker or an active implanted electronic device
- people undergoing heavy medical treatment (active chemotherapy or radiotherapy)
- people who are photosensitive or taking photosensitising medication
- minors without parental consent
