Why quitting smoking on your own is so hard
Quitting smoking involves two dependencies that do not unravel at the same pace. The first is physical: when nicotine is missing, the body responds with nervousness, irritability and sometimes broken nights. The second is behavioural and lies in everyday habits: the morning coffee, the ten o’clock break, drinks on a terrace with colleagues. Each of these moments is enough on its own to bring a cigarette to mind.
