Why quitting smoking on your own is still so hard
Most people who come to the centre have already tried, on their own or with nicotine substitutes. These attempts say nothing about their willpower: it often takes several tries before quitting sticks, and quitting without outside support is the most exposed to relapse.
Laser auricular reflexology focuses on the physical dependence. The rest is worked on afterwards, with the support.
Laser auricular reflexology in Charleroi: how a session works
How a session works, step by step
- The introductory interview
The session lasts about an hour. It begins with an introductory interview: how much you smoke, your past attempts, the moments when the urge comes back. The practitioner uses this to choose the points to stimulate. - Applying the laser
Next comes the laser. A gentle, low-intensity laser (photobiomodulation) stimulates reflex points on the ear and nose. No needles, no breaking of the skin, no medication: the method is non-invasive. A slight warmth, nothing more, followed by advice for the first few days.
What the method aims to do, and what it does not do
The method is based on stimulating specific points with a laser. It aims to ease the physical withdrawal sensations felt after quitting and to reduce the symptoms often associated with stopping, such as stress, irritability, anxiety or sleep problems. The goal is to support you through this transition phase and make it less uncomfortable.
It does not replace your decision to stop and does not act on the habits built up over the years: that is what the support is for.
Laser technology has been in use for more than thirty years; Reset Laser has been supporting people since 2020. More about the method and the protocol.
Who the method is not suitable for
The session cannot be offered to people in any of the following situations:
- pregnant women, at any stage of pregnancy
- people with a pacemaker or an active implanted electronic device
- people undergoing heavy medical treatment (active chemotherapy or radiotherapy)
- people who are photosensitive or taking photosensitising medication
- minors without parental consent
If in doubt, talk to your GP before booking.
What the Charleroi centre offers you after the session
12
12 months of personalised support
The session is not the end of the process. For twelve months, you stay in direct contact with the Châtelet centre: if an urge is stronger than expected or a weekend gets difficult, you call and the practitioner who saw you adjusts their advice. This personalised support is what sets the approach apart from quitting on your own.
+
A free session if you relapse
If you smoke again within twelve months of quitting, you are offered a free session if you relapse, at the Charleroi centre or at any centre in the network.
This commitment concerns the means provided and is not a promise of results, as success also depends on each client’s personal willpower.
Dependencies supported at the Charleroi centre
Tobacco
The session stimulates the reflex points linked to nicotine cravings, as well as the points linked to stress and anxiety, to help ease the sensations felt after quitting. The support then focuses on the everyday situations that trigger the urge to smoke. Discover the method.
Alcohol
The same principle: a session that works on the craving points, followed by 12 months of support. It is a subject that often carries a sense of judgement, which you will not find at the centre. Find out more.
Cannabis
The principle is close to that for tobacco, working on the points linked to cravings, stress and anxiety. The support often goes further, as people also ask about sleep, motivation and concentration. Find out more.
Sugar
Both an addictive substance and an ingrained habit, refined sugar is addressed through the same points: those linked to cravings, to reduce the urge to consume it, and those linked to stress. Weight and energy are often part of the picture too. Find out more.

I’ve been smoking for 45 years. I decided to stop with the laser.
Hello, I’m a heavy smoker. I’ve been smoking for 45 years. I decided to stop with the laser, and I thank them because it helped me give up cigarettes. It was done on 19 February 2026. I still haven’t had a single cigarette. I recommend it.
